The Lamoo Prize

Celebrating excellence in girl child education.

Awarded every term at participating schools

About This Bursary

The Lamoo Prize is named in honour of Lamoo Suzan, the mother of Mzee Okee, and celebrates the top-performing female student in each class every term at participating schools. It is a direct investment in girl child education in Northern Uganda, where barriers for female students remain significant.

Mzee Okee's mother, Lamoo Suzan, was from Paloga Sub-County. This prize carries her name as a symbol of the Foundation's commitment to girl child education, ensuring that young women in Lamwo District are seen, celebrated, and supported to go as far as their ambition takes them.
